Can anyone explain to me Why diesel insurance is always far cheaper then petrol? An example..theres a 1.9 derv polo in my local area for sale...it said cheap insurance? What's the crack with that?

would it still be cheap for peoples aged 17-upwards like?

(and on other derv cars too)

I thought in general, Diesel cars are usually at least 1 insurance group higher than a standard petrol one!

Its not cheaper in general.
Because the advert says cheap insurance that doesn't mean the car is cheaper to insure than the equivalent petrol.
