Right ive been offered an Xe of my mate and the fitting kit aswell for very cheap...but the problem is the Piston rings have gone...Are these easy to replace as i could re-build the Xe ect.. At the mo hes running at 180bhp but thats with carb i dnt get the carbs sadly..
Any advice on what i shud do

Adam B how much do u reckon i shud pay ?And if the engine is out which it will be it will be fine as my mate did work for vauxhall so he can do it

if it was running carbs why only 180 bhp ?????
sounds like its been thrashed to within an inch of its life to me, you need to make sure its just the piston rings that are fekked

180 bhp would be right if it only had carbs and cams, still a 30bhp increase.
Usually if rings are that badly worn so are the pistons and possibly want a rebore.
