why not use a 309 rear beam? slightly wider for better handling

because they're a cunt to get hold of....
there seems to be a lot more down in England...but up here its hard to get 309 beams and Gti beams...esp ones in decent condition...

underside round beam mounts, and new panel are all treated, and sealed....

Suspension fitted to beam, beam painted.... all rear brake lines removed.

Ready to fit beam tonight, and fit lines when they arrive from automec

fuckin cuntin brake lines....


got the new lines, got two new flexi hoses for the rear beams.....

need to get two flexi hoses for the rear calipers to pipe to beam now.... fuckin corroded crusty cuntin brakes.... most of the unions are just buggered :/ Need two new rear brake line compensators too

The beam is on now though, with solid GpA mounts

dicussing engine swaps with luckyb last night

when the 1.9 pops..... think we may go for a 1.6 16v 106 GTi/Saxo VTS engine

Looking good see you went with bakers mounts shoudl be snap happy at the back now

309 running gear is a nice touch, but with the std 8v enigne the 205 rear beam is more fun I recon

1 question, does the cage you have tie in to the rear beam mounting points? as it seems most don't, and I'm tryign to fint if anyone does a strut type brace for them at the back

the beam, floor and rear of the cage are all bolted together, yes

the come together at the front 2 mounts

older engine..... and dave was telling me about oil surge/starvation issues with the engine....

and with an engine doing most of its work at high revs on corners etc.... that isnt ideal
