want the rear of mine like this, is it carpeted mdf or the like to make it completely flat?

i used 6mm mdf on the top and and a strip of wood about 1" square to support it underneath

there's some pics mate... basically made two halves but instead of having them front and back i did two sides spanning the entire way with a break in the middle to let me fold it in. was then held into place by the sub pushing it out against sidewalls and also the contours of the car
p.s. my sub box is now recarpeted

cheers thats a great help. i arent looking to put any ice in yet so could use thinner mdf? what would be an ideal thickness?

6mm would be alrite if mike16v's used it and found it fine but imo seems a bit thin.... i'd aim for something a little sturdier (maybe 10mm) and then use batons to support it

i used 6mm as next size available was 12 and was alot heavier, kind of defeats the object imo

yea was thinking that. dont want it too heavy. looks good when done properly. what are prices like on mdf? how much will i need?

think it cost me less than a tenner for all the wood i used on mine, then about £4 for some carpet

where did yoou get the carpet from, ive only seen it for about £20 per roll of 1mx2m

my mate used to own a carpet shop so he had loads of bits and bobs lying about, he sold it now thou so cant help ya im affraid

i got mine off eBay for about 15 or 20 quid as it was 2m by 1m but its real good quality stuff... just got a new pic of it!!!
