mine is off the road for "a while" declared SORN, and insurance cancelled

thats all you need to worry about really, just make sure its not on the road after its SORN, or at a bodyshop, keep it insured for when its not near you

Statutory (sp) Off Road Declaration

basically just lets the DVLA know that the car isnt being used on the road, so you dont pay road tax or insurance

ah ok , what sort of cost does it all incur ?

Also is it easy enough to get the car back on the road ?

no cost to declare SORN

basically, you take your tax disc to the post office and get a rebate, then you just tax as normal when you want it back

insurance company might charge you 2 months or so though, so it might not be worthwhile uninsuring it, or even SORN'ing it if its only for a month or two
