The MD just announced that theres gonna be 40 redundancies out of about 120 employees at my place - just like most Engineering in the UK - its all going abroad for the cheap labour and even cheaper build quality. Our biggest customer bought bits from China at a 40% cheaper rate than us, then compained about the build quality when it arrived - tossers.

Im lucky though being one of the more qualified people that work there with a finger in the design side of things - my job is pretty sure to be safe but I wouldnt bet my redundancy pay on it!
