Hi, I am getting a vectra 1.7td engine into my corsa and may consider changing brakes since I'll be getting a bit over 100bhp. Would drilled discs be worth the upgrade along with some performance pads? Do I have to change the calipers? Or maybe consider different brakes? To be honest I do not know much about other brands but I hear brembo are very good though expensive.

Thanks.

Go for a 2 litre or V6 set up. Change the discs, pads and calipers. It's a straight swap.

The 2 litre are from the Astra GSi, Cav SRi or Calibra 2.0 16v

The V6 set up can be bought from LMF.

Thanks dean .. reading your sig you have V6 brakes. Does the pedal feel spongy? I am more biased towards the 2 litre setup to be honest.

v6 brakes and braided hoses, you will get a little more travel due to the huuge piston in th v6 calipers, but i wouldn't say spongy

I wouldn't say spongy either.

Mine are, but that is down to shagged rear cylinders. I have braided hoses to go on as well, should sort it out.

Also, i have warped discs

Had EBC on my GTi. They were very very good.

2.0 or V6 set up is the way to go

My EBC's warped in less than ten days, i was on the 2litre discs and callipers.

I didnt really let them bed in to be honest, forgot

They were good for stopping, just peed off they warped after spending 130quid on them.
