Doesnt the SR-71 hold the highest altitude record?

TBH i doubt the B2 would be able to actually make it into space but i dont think it'll be too much of a prob for it to get close.

the SR71 is still the fastest aircraft ever operated on a rugular basis, ie, not experimental. Its absolute speed record is around 2,200mph, which is feckin fast, and used to hold the altitude record of 80,000ft, but was broken by the Russian Mig25 Foxbat which reached an incredible 115,000ft

interestingly, the SR71 is the only military aircraft to ever employ a ramjet type setup for the P&W engines. at mach3.2, the engines themselves produced almost no power, with only the afterburner and ramjet effect pushing the aircraft along.

The B2 has fairly average performance when it comes to subsonic military aircraft. mach 0.85 cruise speed from its 4 general electric turbofan engines, similar to those found on commercial aircraft, and a service ceiling of 50,000ft.

the U2 Surveillance plane has a service ceiling of 90,000ft, but it would rarely utilise this performance since it does its role better at 70,000ft.

I like the way the SR-71 leaks fuel on the ground

I would be more interested in an article which cited information with its grounding in fact rather than speculation.

Its controls are so complicated that special software has been written that will teach the craft to fly itself after basic instruction from a pilot; the neural network is also said to be more like the human brain than a computer.

I showed that to my mate from college who is a software engineer, hes been contracted by the US air force, BAE and General Atomics before. His company wrote the software for the predator drones. When I showed him this he just laughed and shook his head.

Neural networks try to mimic the way the brain learns.
Its not like a human brain though.
