Just rang up Performance Direct to get a quote and the guy on the other end of the phone was trying to tell me that I need a full bike license to ride one!

I'm sure you can drive them on a car license

Anyone know?

you can drive one below 50cc with a provisional

You can drive one OVER 50cc on a provisional if its used on a farm as its classed as an agricultural vehicle. My mate did this when he was 16 with his 500cc 53 plate road legal quad

Also make sure its registered as PLG not agricultural as agric only really allows you to use the roads to get to different parts of the farm, not 30 or 40 miles down the road.
