Hi all, last weekend I had some 195/45 x 15" Marshall Power Racer II tyres fitted to my Astra Sport wheels (see pic). I went to check pressures and set them all to 32psi. The tyres were nearly new, done about 100 miles and brought off a guy off here. I had them fitted by kwik fit but a cash in hand job for fitting, valves and balancing (which is way out anyway lol).
I decided to leave them a week then go and check the pressures to ensure they're holding. However, I checked them and:
OSR: 24psi
NSR: 29-30psi
OSF: 30psi
NSF: 28psi
I was especially concerned with my off side rear at 24psi...
How long should they be able to hold 32psi? It aint been driven far really nor has it been ragged over nasty bumps etc...
Any ideas?
Cheers

They should hold a lot longer than 100 miles!! I check mine once a month (which is about 400 miles for me) and they only need 2-4 psi if any at all. You wouldn't drive london to glasgow and expect your tyres to need more air!

If the tyres are brand new and theres no punctures, they could possibly do with re-sealing on the rims. As said 6 PSI in 100 miles is quite a bit really.

tyre pressures depend on the weight of the car and which engine is fitted.

The car is a 1400spi 8v, I decided to try 32psi for the time being and it seemed ok but like I say, if it's loosing that much pressure its rather odd.
my bro in law reckons the tyres just aint sealed yet and still may seal so I'll check them again next weekend and hope for the best... most annoying if they keep loosing pressure though, fed up of spending on this car, the wheels have been balanced about 6 times in 6 months and still aint right lol

31 psi rears, 33 psi fronts.
28 all round is too low.
