They're on the grey shed with the 1.9 you great big silly old sausage you.

Mine sports factory black TSW Evos.

Vader's prefered choice of early 90's FWD rim.

Always thought the Venoms looked a bit odd and sticky out when they first came out.

Had this proved when I saw a brand new set, kerbed to f*ckery almost straight away.

Saw the grey car when it was finished, at Severn Valley when we collected the black car in '97 or '98. Was a little rough around the edges and interior was far from mint.

Insano quick though.

Wasn't mine then.

(Should have been in the foreground though)

Belonged to my friend Rob who bought it new in October '89 as a birthday present to himself, and spent 10 years developing it.

I bought it in August 2000 for £1000 less than the cost of the engine and brakes.

The grey car was fitted with the venoms before they went on sale to the public I think, as I remember seeing them on the car before i'd even seen them anywhere alse and they looked very odd and futuristic and a bit OTT.

Btw, just worked out why the call them venoms.

If you look at the spokes from the rim edge in, they resemble the fangs of a Tarantula.

Durr, everyone else probably worked this out eight years ago.

Not at all, I always thought they quite suited the grey car, as they are a similar colour to the car, and not oversized or out of proportion to the cars shape and size. It also gets away with them because there is nothing more outlandish than the wheels attached to it.

I think what spoiled Venoms was a combination of so many being sold, and seeing them so often in poor condition and on cars they didn't suit, in the wrong size, i.e. small ones on a Sierra, or huge kerbed ones on a tatty Clio with a nastly bodykit.

They should be as far as I am aware.

They built a very stealthy huge power Zetec S Fiesta only recently that was on ebay last month.

They used to have a Website and I printed off the pics of my car and their red development car, plus the spec of my engine.

Haven't been able to find anything on them on the tinterweb for well over a year now though.

The last time I found it, it said the site was being redeveloped, but then it disappeared.

Maybe they get enough business through word of mouth. I know they've been developing RS Turbos since 1985.

Bit strange though, you'd think they would have the sense to do a bit of web promotion even though they are very well known and established.

They started building that in '98.

Rob had pics of it just plain looking in Citrine yellow on Escort Cosworth rims when it was first done, and it looked great.

Kevan gave him some pics of his projects when we collected the Escort.

Was some interesting stuff on his RS200 and 650bhp Transit.

Ka was loony spec RWD with YBD.

Was gonna be 4WD but no room for hardware, so they settled for RWD.

Ended up all ugly and obvious looking with stupid huge yellow wheels, ghastly graphics and Puma lights (the typical Severn Valley way they weren't renowned for subltety), and a turbod ZVH hybrid thingy under the bonnet.

Then they called it 'The Puka'

The black FWD Zetec S fiesta was done very recently for a customer mate.
