Been trying to put my cambelt cover back on tonight but have failed miserably. Got extemely pissed off with it now so have given up. got other bits back on the engine but lost a small bolt, looked in the turbo as best i can and dont think i dropped it down there but cant find it anywhere
quite an unproductive evening tbh
couple questions though...
1) Will it be safe to drive temporarily without a cambelt cover?
2) Is there some sort of knack to fiiting a belt cover to an XE/LET??

should be ok without the cover but u will get dirt in there which could potentially make a belt slip and cock up ur engine so best of just trying to get it on!

it's likely to be fine without the cover.
try taking off the alternator belt to give you more space to get the cam belt cover in place.

with the alternatot pulled right up to the head as far as it will go the belt should come off.
even with it just loose you should then have space to get the cover in.
i remember the first time i did mine i had a right nightmare with it.
pull the bottom left corner back toward the wing slightly to get the bottom fixing point over the stud
