Hi guys, had a chat with a man at work today and he was telling me that all filters should have some and any that dont are not worth buying.

is he correct ?

I think it is part of the oil pump, filters may have a non ruturn valve?

as above preesure release valve is in the oil pump.
the sandwich plate between the pump and the filter has a thermostat to let oil round the cooler when it's warm enough where fitted.

a filter is a filter. it doesn't need to do anything else.

Ok then, i was looking through loads of filters today at work and some of them have pressure release valves and others dont
