Ive heard its quite difficult to get an accurate gap for the 6x9s and have seen many jagged and rough holes for 6x9s!?

So what would be your recommendation for measuring it out!!

By the way its a professional acoustic stealth shelf with the removable shelf under!!

Cheers

definately use a jigsaw .

i did mine by marking 4 dots (6 inches by 9 inches) and drew an oval shape to join them up (this part was purely guess work just estimating the curves of the oval)
then i put the speakers in the hole and if they didnt fit you can see which part is stopping it and trim a bit off that edge

the key is to trim off a small piece at a time otherwise you will end up with a hole that is too big

I once did mine using simple engineering drawing. You'd probably find how on the net .. search a bit.

The box the speakers come usually has a template to cut the right shape and drill the mounting holes.
Then use a jig saw to get the hole perfect.
The speaker grill can sometimes be used to get the right shape too, just be carefull its not slightly too big so the speakers drop through.
