crap spec tbh mate, if it has suntour on it, its a load of wank.

steer clear of cable disc brakes. Had them ages ago and their a waste of time

change the cable breaks to hydraulic and your laughin, and yes shimano breaks are good. the hardrock frame is very good, light and very strong

Well in the end i bought a Specialized Hardrock bike. It only cost £299 but it is REALLY good (for what i need anyway). Feels super solid and the tyres are huuuuge....really happy. Much better than anything i saw/sat on in Halfords.....

they are much better now, particularly Shimano brand ones. I now have hydraulics which are stronger, but the cable operated werent bad at all as long as they have decent pads

and decent wheels. I had crappy disc brakes and crappy wheels, the spokes came stupidly loose and ended up buckling the rim.

PMSL 
i highly rate Giant Bikes. I do lots of offroad, and it stands up to the punishment very well indeed. Mavic carbon rims are awesome.

My first decent bike was a specialized hardrock. Ive had a few since then though and they have all been specialized.There great for the money imo and there warrenties are great aswell if your like me and brake them alot
