got my bank loan through today
i cant decide whether to buy a clio 172 cup or the newer standard 182?
172 cup has loads to offer but no air con, abs or traction control - what do you reckon cos been told the 172 cup handles so much better

I would go 182 and have the comforts of leather and alcantara and air con.
Would you be able to tell the difference between a 172 Cup and 182 unless it were on a track?

i would opt for the 172 (non cup) as these cars are going to lose alot of value when the new one comes out (197).
the trophy is the only one to hold its value due to the limitation of that model.
my girlfriend has a 182 and under hard cornering the car is very light at the rear. i have not drove a cup 172 but i dont think the differance in power will be at all noticable (even on a track).
i wouldn't bother with a cup as you might as well have some comforts if the car is being use'd as a daily driver. i know in the 172/182 you get C/C , A/C, T/C half leather etc... which wont really make much of a wieght difference anyway IMO (could be wrong)

I used to have a 172 Cup and loved it, but then I didn't care about the luxuries. 7k seems quite high, I've seen them for less around here. Look out for a later model with Climate Control.

get the standard 172 there isn't hardly any difference in performance so u might as well have the luxuries. Plus it would be easier to sell

keep thinkin bout the luxuries but really like the cup wheels and colour (blue) would like another black car but im fed up of havin 2 wash my present car every week. seems like a mixed vote howver would of thought 172 cup would be easier to sell as they are rarer and will hold value better

I thought the Cup would be easier to sell, but they arn't. They are not that rare to be honest, 7k actually seems ok for a 53 with cc. Go for it mate.

the 172 is ment to be faster and handle a lot better than the 182 because of the extra weight in the 182
not sure how true this is tho
