My brother has just turned 17 and is currently having driving lessons.
From doing quotes, it's cheaper for him to insure a larger engined "bigger car" than a small car like a corsa.
Quotes for the likes of 1.0 corsas, 1.1 saxos, puntos, etc all return quotes of around £2500
Where as (at 17!!) he can get insured on a 1.6 16V Astra Sport for £600 less
Same applies for focus', he can get insured on a 1.8 focus for £500 less than a 1.0 corsa too

I think it must be down to accident stats and the fact that all new drivers pretty much go for a small hatchback (i.e. corsa) and wrap them up.

I don't know what a puma racing one is, but out of all the 1.6 cars, i.e. corsa sport, saxo vts, the fiestas are the slowest.
