i agree with what you are saying, but it is pretty obvious, u dont just wake up one day and become dependent on something, it is a build up over time.

People use lots of drugs recreationally and dont have a problem.

no, I know its not just suddenly. If you take it once a month or something then you wont become an addict and I know lots of people are in this position and are perfectly fine. Its when it starts as once a month, then once a week, then everytime your out which causes the addiction, and is what commonly happens.

couldnt tell you, Im not a doctor. Like I said there was an article someone posted up one here not too long ago that went into it, and how it was linked with causing some mental illness later in life.

let me explain myself.
first of all i wanted to know if it would be the right thing to do, to let my ex and bestfriend know about whats going down.
yes she said she knew, but over the last weeks ive seen her get more and more upset and uneasy about seeing him. which is why i thought i'd tell her.
im not pursuing it, i mearly told her, and said i was looking out for her and not to get dragged into it, because shes got alot going for her in her life.
why would i be the jealous ex? jealous of what exactly? a coke head?
there are alot of dicks on here today but your all entitled to your own opinion, the thread has fallen into a slaggin match and in all honesty STFU to the majority of you.
as you for joe, how was prison, take it like a good boy did we?
your the prime example why i told her, from hanging round with sad scum like yourself. so SMB with your lame ass comments.
chris-sri thanks mate, and also to comso, you both talk sense.
brett, i suspect one day you'll realise just how much of a chump you really are, maybe if your daughter or your girlfriend whatever starts on coke, i hope you realise then why i asked the question.
we spoke on the phone about an hour ago, and she said things arnt going too well with her current guy, and actually said thank you for looking out for her, yes i may of come across as the jealous ex wanting to stick my nose in, but like i said before im just looking out for a friend.

well said people need to chill about drugs these days, addicts are addicts and people who just do the odd drug now and then are just doing what they want.

im not going to argue to with anyone, just give my opinion and proly never read this thread again.
im totally against drugs. cigs and alcohol are legal and drugs are illegal for a purpose, the % of people who have bad effects from drugs will be a lot higher than people who smoke and drink.
Also Angie gave a good example about the emergency room and when you hear about the effect it has on children whether they have drug taking parents and suffer negligence or may take it by accident (anything could happen really) or when it starts going round schools and kids get involved because of peer pressure and may not be educated enough on the matter to know right or wrong.
and i do believe the majority of 'recreational' users will become addicted.

Your opinion has no ground to it

Cosmo is spot on.

Im a fair bit older than most here, and almost everybody I know/knew that did recreational coke in the early nineties are now addicts.

Its a very sad fact to me......ive seen so many good mates fcuked over by coke. The only ones not dead/inside/dealing are the ones rich enough to not work. And I dont hold out hope for them either

Again im not saying all people will end up like this...ive a few friends that have got clean....they (and me) now steer well clear of the others
