hi
i have just got my backbox on my car and you can hardley hear it. ive been told to take the middle silecner out will this make much difference?
and can you buy the pipe for it from anywhere?

and it does sound abit better when warm but not to loud.

i have a scorpion backbox and it's only when I'm on my way or reaching home that you can really hear the sound from it..LOL...too late by then...jk

yer lol same with me but you can still only just hear it so i want to take out the middle silencer i think but not sure how much louder it will make it.

hey, i took the middle section out when i had a nova, with a peco backbox, did make a little differenence little more raspier, but not worth the effort of cutting and welding in a straight bit, the backboxs are quiet as we had the silencert out and revd it without backbox and sounded sweet(obviously) but soon as i put the backbox on, it acted as a massive silencer itself. heard the best thing is get rid of CAT and SILENCER, or get a backbox made for loudness (rage,savage)

i have a rage back box. First had it fitted with the middle box and the cat both on the car. Was very quiet. So i got one of those remux racing tubes from ebay without the middle silencer, did'nt make it much louder at all. Last of all i removed the cat converter, and it really let the sound out, its quite loud now and has a brilliant note.
I would advise you to leave the middle box on the exhaust, and buy a decat pipe, it should be loud enough then, if not replace the centre pipe to a straight thru version, but it dose'nt make a big difference

you can switch round the front pipe in 10 minutes for MOT.

would imagine it would help a 1 litre run better, as the engine being less restricted. Would'nt see any power gains tho, but if its sound your after it would help. Them little 1 litre's run awful quiet don't they?

u can get de-cats from powerflow for bout £50-60, then they nodify ure cat so tht its easy to put back on if u need it
