decided today that i need to mount my seats properly not the bodge type arraif that i have in it before.

I know i need some square section welded in on the drivers side and as i only have one set of side mounts so far i decided to mount the passenger seat on the floor as far back and low down as possible.

however it wont fit, so i need to get the angle grinder on it...

the beam accross the middle is going ot get totally removed and then some square section welded in and the seats bolted to that. Ill paint it all satin black first. will even put my floor plates in to make it all sexy.

I'll update this thread later in the week when i get the car to work and see if i can beg some help...

Why dont you buy some more side mounts for the passenger side then you dont have to hack your cars floor up?

Or is that the easy option?

surley using the origanl mounts, weld a bar across and custom make a rear bar. the seat would still fit nicly and sit low enough

Can you not just cut a section out of the rail going accross so the welded in bar retains some strength in that section?

Yeah. the way I read it you were going to cut the pannel around the hand brake away and replace it I would just cut in to it for the box sections

Cutting the floor to fit the seats is common place in race car preperation. Do it!

cut the entire floorpan out and used a hand woven wicker base, should give a nice ride and put some extra tension in the shell
