...all the B needed was a recharged battery and it started in first try!
It came to life with a roar and a lot of white smoke, took 2k rpm for a second then idled nicely at 750 rpm!
Was a bit jumpy until it ran warm, but other than that everything seems to be in perfect working order!

Quality engineering!

Just thought I'd share the happy news!

stunning engine, my old sri was ace, never really touched the engine that much and it just ran and ran and it did have some stick!!!!!!!

yup mine is a quality engine, always starts first time everytime, unless the battery is flat

C14SE is, as mentioned, the 1.4i 8v with multipoint! We don't have the term 'SRi' over here, mine's a sport!
Though it's only 82bhp it easily outruns cars pushing more power including 1.4 16v Corsa's!

I've had the car for three years now and nothing has ever been wrong with the engine in that time! And it's done nearly 180.000 km (aprox 120k miles).

my old 8V SRI has done 165,000 miles now, apart from head gasket going at 135,000 it still runs like new!
