can it be removed whilst still in the bay (corsa) or does the head have to come off

Yes it can, it's a c*nt though, and I've alway undone the drivers side font mount and lowered the engine a few inches to give a little more room.

jack it up on axel stands and ly on you back under it and you might be able to get at it easyer... its just 2 of the bolts that are in a cnut of a place to get at... right up underneath...

getting it off is the easy part, putting it back on always seems harder
