You should have sent the pizza back!
That kinda stuff happened all the time when I used to work for Pizza Hut (long time ago mind).. and the customer would complain it was staff's fault for not putting the lid on correctly.

Customer was never doubted..

mate was like it would be even funnier if he unscrewed it but he didnt

whenever at a restaurant or anywhere with salt and pepper i always swap the lids or loosen em, it just happens naturally.
