e-mailed a company to ask how muuch they would give me for my reg plate

We would be pleased to sell the
registration on your behalf and would return you the sum of £800 NET to yourself upon
the completion of the transfer.

whats the NET in capitals stand for?

Dunno what they stand for but thats how much u will get after VAT and other deductions....

Basically they sell it for about £1500 and will give you £800 once its sold; NET is minus all deductions; there fee, transfers etc

but to my mates it was Gibry and it kinda pissed me off, So as i havent put the plates on my newer car i thought sell it and make some money on it

They offer to sell it on your behalf - which may take a while if it happens at all.

You get 800 quid - they take about 2k for it.

If its worth 2k you may as well list it on ebay and get that yourself. Personally I can't see it making that. I would value it close to what you paid for it.

Throw it on there 99p no reserve see what happens.

set a reserve min you would want to take if for with 99p start price then

Setting reserves usually lowers the amount of interest.

Its a risk but there's no reason why a friend can't win if it doesn't make much.

yeah dont put a reserve on and with a day left or so, get your mate to bid the lowest you would take for it, that way its a win win situtation, as you wont lose it for cheap/or you sell it for more than you want
