hi, im posting this for a mate of mine.

I have a vehicle reg number and wanting to do an online check. Does anyone know of any free ones as the majority seem to charge for it :/

well, ive got the owners name and reg. would be useful to have an address or phone number. i dont know if a check will provide any of that though :/

does anyone know a way of how i can find this out. ive already used the phone book but to no success

lol why would u look in the phone book when u only have a reg number?

i think you can pay to get it off dvla but you have to have a good reason for wanting it eg the car was in a collision with yours etc,they won't just give the info out

you can do a basic dvla check here.....

http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk

click on vehicle inquiry

If you want more info you can get the info for a few quid from the dvla but must have a valid reson and it takes 14 days

the cheapest i have seen a online hpi check is £19.95

id look in the phone book because as i mentioned below i have the car owners name, i also know which town theyre from. read it properly before making comments

ive contacted the DVLA and theyre sending me the forms through, said it'll cost me all of £2.50
