im after 2 sets of new glasses, one for work, one for driving
getting polorized lenses in my work ones (something smart) and light reaction ones in a sunglasses type frame for driving
anyone know any good examples/websites/offers?
spec savers have buy 1 get 1 free, so its 125 for the 2 frames, and 100 on top for the lenses, so 225 all in, which isnt too bad
also, who orders contact lenses on line? got an apointment next week for mine, couldnt have them last time due to the way my eyes are, but hopefully the new ones will be ok

I had contacts for a few weeks, got pissed off with them so just use them for going out now
Asda is cheap, i got mine from there as my eye test is only £5

Next is way too over priced for glasses plus u cant try them on to see what they look like, u have to order and hope they look alright because u cant send them back as they are customed made for your eyes!

best ones i have seen is the quicksilver sunglasses in specsavers (plastic frame, black, no nose rest bits, siler badge on side) for driving BUT im not sure if i want polorise (what i have now) or tinted lenses
tinted look better, and more sunglassery, but polorised are better for driving
think i might get polorised work glasses (miles better when looking at the PC) and tint or light reaction lenses for sunnys

There's a place in cannon park which make glasses. You have to take prescription to them though as they dont to the examinations. It's right in the corner near partco (next to big gass cylinder things) I cant remember the name off the top of my head but they are silly cheap for the quality etc. Have a good range too.

imo your best of getting a pair of perscription sun glasses for driving instead of the light reactions ones. cos if u goin into a tunnel they dont react in time to change the lens back to clear.

I used to wear Acuvue Dailies and they were ultra comfy. Probably going for laser surgery in the next couple of months though now

Photochromic glasses (reactions) don't work behind glass so when your in hte car they won't change colour.

No point having sunsensor/Transition lenses in driving glasses as your car windcreen is UV protected and the crystals in the coating on transition glasses use UV light to change colour. Unless you drive with you head out of the window dont bother.
Also why the hell do you want poloarised lenses for work? Unless you work outside in the sun preety pointless. I dont know what you do for a living but if you sit infront of a computer it'd be like sitting in doors with sunnies on 
In my opinion Polarised lenses for driving elimiates glare and problems you get with rising and setting sun.
Transitions for work as new generation ones go crytal clear when used indoors but as soon as you encounter sunlight change to almost sunglass in colour whether it be grey or brown transitions you choose.
Also Ian I wouldnt bother with Laser surgery for a while yet they are still perfecting technique. I work in the optics industry and wouldnt every consider it. I know of people who have had it done and as much as they have better vision there has been side effects like dry eyes, photo sensitivity and one of my mates cant even drive at night now as light rays from traffic lights and oncomming cars form light rings in his field of vision. Thats one thing thats quite precious your vision dont gamble with it.
As for contacts daily Johnson & johnson Acuvue are brilliant if you want hassle free contatc lenses but for comfort and long lasting wear try Pro clear lenses

fad: i have 2 sets of glasses at the moment, and the poloised ones are 100 times better to wear whist on the PC. the white glare from word/excel etc is eliminated with them
and my car is a convertible, so the sun will bypass the window lol
so what do you recomend? tinted glasses for driving in the sun or polorised? (i want them to look like sunglasses)
or
if i can get contacts, i shall wear contacts when i drive with normal sun glasses over the top
ideas?
