yeah 150- 160 is the norm for that specand the peak power is 7600-7800rpm thats why they raise the rev limit to get the best benifit, from the cams

My 15.3 was with just pugsport + filter. Manifold wasn't on yet.

Lucky B, yeh I know 162 is a tad high hehe... Realisticly thinking 155-160. I know your 106 16v with the same manifold as mine on TB's and 708's made 166

Though saying that, I could list several VTS / Gti's which have made 160 or just under) with

pugsport decat, simota / ecosse with green inside, supersprint 4-2-1, catcam 708's and remap.

though whether the rollers were funky? I don't know.

Either way, I think that's what my car needs to extend the torque further and make a higher peak power at a higher rpm.

Also in reference to the where it makes peak power - I've seen many different ones, some making it around 7k, some making it 7200 ish and some like 7600-7800 rpm.

All on cat cam 708s.

I generally found the ones with 4-1 were making the peak power much higher.

It's all swings and roundabouts though really, as like in my old RR graph - it's basically making the same amount of power from 6400-7200 - though torque is decreasing.

you should get wheel readouts really, fly is just guestimates and the guestimate could be anything

I got a graph for wheel readout too. Think it was 116 bhp @ the wheels.

Yeh seen it on Saxo Sports Club, and also did you post it on PGAC?

Was interesting how you made more peak power with 4-2-1 than 4-1

Would be interesting to see what it makes with it remaped on the 4-2-1 raceland.

Ye, i was rather impressed with my results considering no mapping was done.

I dont think their will be much more power to come, just torque around 3k rpm.

What sort of trumpets do you have on your TB's though? - No offence, but your power output seems abit low compared to some other TB'd 106's I've seen, like bics.

I would of expected 170? - Longer trumpets could possibly give more torque and thus increase overall power as well?

My lass has the 106 gti and the only thing I dont like about it is that the pedal are very close together other than that I wouldnt mind one myself.

its because most RR's are dodgy, luckyb probably went to one of the more honest ones

My eng uses the trumpets that came with the Jenvey TB kit, longer trumpets could increase power/torque but i'm not chopping bits off my car to fit longer trumpets.

I dont really see where your coming from regarding my engines power output...

Considering the money (or lack off) spent i think i have plenty power, Bic spent ££££'s on his old 106 Gti engine and it had 3.4bhp more than i do IIRC.

My engine only has a skimmed head, no "headwork" as such has been done at all.

My engine uses totally std parts internally apart from the cams and the rev limiter is set at 8250rpm (soft cut) so i'm not complaining in the slightest at having 166.6bhp & 126lb ft torque b4 final mapping.

I've only ever had my car on Wallace Performance's Dastek RR because they're renowned for there accuracy.

I could go to another local (ish) RR and my engine would show 180+bhp but i'd rather have an honest figure than one for boasting about in the pub.

Anyone that thinks 0-60 is over 8seconds on a gti hasnt driven one, i have a few videos of the speedo on my 106 Gti and it is standard 0-60 7secs (ish) if anyone wants proof i can post it

I wasn't insulting your car, or the power it makes. It must be enough for you to win your class at hill climbing

You considered the KMS inlet that angles the trumpets over the bulk head?

All I was saying about the power was that I've seen people get 160 with cams etc... yet you had TB's and were only getting 6 bhp more - but I guess its the more midrange / useable power you gain.

I bought the TB kit i did because it was for sale cheap.

My car/engine was built on a small budget, i'm not in a position to be able to "throw money at a car". (mortgage's suck)

But at the end of the day i won the class i was competing in which means job done.
