I cant speak for all turbo cars, only the one i have had direct experience with

I had recirc valve only (std) for a long time, then used the DV26. Im guessing the position of the valve (recirc is on the turbo, DV is on inlet pipe) made a difference, it holds the revs and overcomes compressor stall
