As many of you will know - I got nicked for speeding at 101.4 mph, I had to go to court and got 6 points.

Just rang up my insurance to renew and tell them about the points.

They had sent me a quote of £836. So I rang up, said I'd like to renew but I have points to declare. He said 'Ok, Sp30?' I was like 'nope Sp50'. he said ok, 3 points? I said 'nope 6 points'.

He said, ok 2 seconds...

Came back and said 'ok, that's fine. No change to your premium. £836 please'

Eh? So I just added 6 points for doing over a ton on the motorway and it's not even going to make my premium rise a bit?

Weird - but cool

I didn't have anything added to my premium when I told them I had 3 points. Would of thought 6 points would of bumped it up but then again who hasn't got points on their license these days. Its becoming the normal!

Adrian Flux.

I was tempted to phone around and get it cheaper, but it was cheaper than last year so.

I think it's under the people called NIG insurance though.

Probably because with camera's points are common as muck these days. they're possibly only bothered about bans or worse (like dangerous driving / drink driving)

I find on some roads it feels like I spend more time looking for speed cameras than watching the road and my speedo

Yeh - these days going through camera's i watch my speedo - like barely look at the road... though sometimes I go through them at like 26 mph (which is probably about 23 mph in reality) and it pisses off all the traffic behind.

Unless you have a DD or DR then you will find your insurance won't increase a serious amount nowdays due to how common points are.

On the contrary, mine went up when I declared an SP30 with 3 points.

Corsa from 420 to 770
Astra from 880 to 1360

Expensive day out. Surprised me as well.

Best quote for the Corsa elsewhere was over 600, but that was assuming that I can move all my NCB which I can't as its on a second car thing and they matched the Astra bonus, which I'll surrender if I leave Admiral.

Its TPFT instead now at 420.

Astra policy is still running until June.
