Had a couple of months off the doors, been back 3 weeks and already things are getting exciting. Im at a new venue in a new town, far away from my area. I dont know anyone and no-one know me which i like, because people reputations mean nothing to me anyway - i treat everyone the same. Ive already upset a few faces by searching them upon entry and making them pay. I dont know them so why should i give them special treatment over the regular customers.
Anyway, escorted a guy out tonight as he was abusing a lady. He made a scene and as i was taking him out he grabbed a bottle and tried to bottle me. When we got outside he sucker punched me. I found this quite amusing as it felt like a mere tickle, so he took his chances again, but before doing so he ripped his shirt off. Rather stupid because im not going to let someone hit me twice. All i'll say is i acted in self defence and only struck him once, which resulted in him ending up in a pathetic heap on the floor. Prat must have been freezing with no top on.
Only turns out he's the local nutter who has previously been inside for a double stabbing Had quite a few locals warning me of him but in my eyes he's just a bully who hasn't had anyone stand up to him before - nothing more.
Guess i'd better wear my stab/bullet proof vest next week

good stuff for standing your ground and that, but i wouldnt like to be a doorman myself its quite a dangerous job these days. i know a doorman who got offered a job in london and the first thing they showed him while he was being toured round was the corridor with bullet proof glass incase an angry customer decided to pull a gun out at him

Yeah the world is changing, gone are the days of a fair fight. Ive been doing the doors for 5 years this year and ive noticed a big difference in the levels of violence used from when i first started. I had a gun pulled on me in my first couple of years, strange feeling. Ive got a decent full ballistic (stab/bullet etc) vest but dont wear it often, unless im expecting trouble.

I just stood there, not alot else i could do. It was wierd though, it was like all i could see was the barell and everything else was a blur. Didn't have any emotions running through me at all, just nothingness. Wasn't until a few minutes after he ran off that i thought to myself; that was a bit naughty

I'd had problems with him in the past, and have had a few problems since.

The management made things 10x worse, one of them saw what happened and called the police. He's well known in the area and has cars worth hundreds of thousands, so sticks out like a sore thumb. The police only went and pulled him over in front of the club and completely stripped his car looking for the gun. He obviously thought i'd grassed him up and for weeks and weeks i had the whole asian community after me Police wanted to take a statement but i declined but still insisted i had a police escort home

Bouncer/Martial arts and self defence expert. Has wrote biographies of his work as a doorman in Coventrys most violent clubs. Really good books.

i know who all the local nutters / drug dealers / and general freaks are around here.

No one liked the new land lady of a local pub until i got talking to her a few months ago and realised she was alright.
I told her who was who and who to look out for and who was the pushers are.
All of a sudden she loves me and says hello to me every time.

Was in another bar last night and the manager saw me coming out of the toilets and stopped me and said not seen you in here for a few months. i was like erm not been out much.
He said welcome back
