Not sure if its a problem or not?
if the car is idle a 'ticking' sound is prob best to explain it comes from the engine as its idling, it not really loud but it can be heard, is this normal for the 1.8?

hydraulic tappets prob. When cold, or warm?
What oil is it using, and is there enough in it?

It does it both cold and warm and the oil level is fine, not sure what oil is in it, too new to have changed, but it could be a possibility to change soon.
