they have a point though Not so bad with you though cos you take yours on trackdays don't you?
Another arguement is; whats the point in most hobbies etc!

One of my mates was jealous when i got my Vectra because he had always had the fastest car out of us with his 1.8 Corsa SRI... So he went out and bought a ST170 so that he would be the fastest again - he was disapointe when he got home...
Through first and second gear in my Vectra we were matched, but once i hit 3rd i left him... 
The T4 would piss on a ST170 right from the start..

End of the day, I'd find it far more worth it and productive to spend money going quicker, than sticking fucking stupid big kits and chav neon's on a car. Whats the point of that?
3CM, there's a fair difference in day to day driving... Especially with my latest 4-2-1 manifold, gives the car soo much more low down torque I can leave it in 3rd where I'd usually have to knock it down to 2nd and get it back in the powerband.
As Carl said also, I do track days - and this is the one reason I'm currently doing things to my car. Last year my car was quite rolly out on track, a bit slow and understeered a lot.
To solve this I have bought...
50mm Eibach Springs, Bilstein Sprintline Shocks and a E-Tech Strut Brace.
Which has reduced body roll and placed the car more firmly on the road / more controllable.
Then got 15" alloys (VTS wheels) which are wider than my old ones and can have lower profile tyres (meaning less driving on the sidewalls like the old ones did under hard cornering), also got decent tyres on there - the difference in grip between before and after is immense!
And finally to solve the lack of power, I bought a ecosse induction kit with green inside, pugsport decat exhaust and 4-2-1 manifold.
All in all, all these mods should result in plenty of track time fun this year.
I was at a Track day at goodwood yesterday, my next is castle combe, though I'm tempted with donnington at donny show, after that I believe it'll be bruntingthorpe proving ground at FCS, possibly cadwell park, then castle combe again, Trax and silverstone. I will also be attending Santa pod again.
Personally, all these mods to me anyway, have had a lot of point - in turning a car into something I can use for my hobby of track days / car related things. Even off the track, it has made my car far more interesting and enjoyable to drive, so it's all been money well spent in my opinion.
Other people may disagree with how I've spent my money, but then I may not agree with certain hobbies or interests they have.

My mates dad who works at Quik Fit  (permission to laugh) mentioned this 2 me the other day.
Apparently the new ST170's on the 55 plate have got a Volvo T5 engine in making them 210 bhp??
Just a rumour don't know if it's true

No thats just the new Focus ST, yes it has a volvo 2.3 litre turbo in it i think
