I hit some bloke yesterday, my cars fine, his passenger door is fucked, tis all bent and window smashed. He first said he'd settle without ins. companies for £200. But i got a call from him today saying the seals gone or someting and hes been quoted £600. I aint gotta clue bout this stuff, shud i claim thru insurers or pay him off?????

He might be trying to get more money out of u, offer to take it to a garge u know off and get a quote from them see if there is that much damage first.
no point giving him all this money if the work isnt required and he is just trying to make some money

tbh i dont care bout the money, and the damage was easily worthy of costing £500. i just wanna make sure paying him off is the best option....

I think best getting another quote for the work. Then make sure you get a written confirmation from him that he got the money or it was paid for at the bodyshop etc so he cant come back to you later on and say you own him money
