And go with another company , you couldnt carry on the no claims of that 6 months could you ?

no, although we were 8 months into corsa insurance when we sold it for the audi, cancelled the free vaux insurance and started new on the audi. New company gave us 1 yr no claims for the 8 months. We were quite fortunate.
