What a load of shite. You hit that woman at 50 and she'd prolly still die. Speeding is not the issue. She died as the result of a driver who was not concentrating fully (chatting to his son) driviing at a different speed from the traffic flow, and conducting his diving like a knobend.
If all the traffic on that road had been doing 100k, with proper braking distances, she wouldnt have died!
Once again, speed is the easy enemy to fix, but safe driving conduct is far harder to instill and enforce.

To be fair, as previously said... what caused the accident? the speed or the guy talking to his son and not paying attention? or just him driving like a cunt.
If he had been going slower, and cut across hitting that car - same shit would of happened.
At the end of the day, most of us know when it is safe or not safe to do speed. In that situation it was quite a congested road and cutting in and out of traffic = poor driving.
On a 3 lane motorway with no traffic around, speeding a bit over the limit can't really be compared.
The whole speeding system needs to be re-reviewed imo.

watched the video... and to be fair, cant understand the previous 2 comments, its like your both making it out that speeding is good & you can go faster, etc...
but can you both Honestly say you have NEVER gone above the limit, regardless if its a motorway, or if its a 30/40/50 zone??? probably not...
At the end of the day, the video is showing what CAN happen, and as a driver, its your responsibility to drive sensibly.
Saying the video is a pile of shit, or that if all the trafic was speeding (doing 100k) and just keeping a safe distance, that she wouldnt of died, now THAT is bollocks...
Limits are there for a reason, and that reason is because of idiots on the road who drive too close, drive like an idiot, schools near by, or anything else for that matter...
Also, driving over the limit JUST because a road is empty... still cant be condoned...

^ I think you took what I said completely wrong.
All I'm saying is, this anti-speeding adverts tend to send the message kill speed - not people.
I'm just saying even if the guy hadn't of been speeding, and had just generally been driving like the cunt that he was (making sharp lane changes without looking properly) - she would of still died.
Hence I'm saying that advert should be used as a
Anti - Driving like a cunt.
rather than Anti-Speeding.
What I'm saying PaulW is that these days speeding is really frowned apon. However, it matters more on the conditions / situation than just the speed.
I never speed through any residential 30 / 40 limits - Firstly it's stupid, secondly its not worth it.
To be fair I rarely speed on the motorway anymore, and where I think I'm speeding (doing say 85) I'm still being overtaken by everyone.
Overall all I'm saying is that - that video yes grusome, is basically saying - if this guy hadn't of been speeding. It wouldn't of happened. I'm saying even if he wasn't speeding (the cars infront may of been going slower than the limit) - it was his poor driving that caused the accident and not necisarily the speed.
I just feel limits should be re-reviewed in this country and they'd get more respect.
yes a 20 or 30 mph limit outside a school on a week day, at day time... but at 3am on a saturday - why is it still 20 limit and a camera sitting there still active? Could easily now be a 40 limit and still be safe.
Autobahn in germany is known to be very safe - ok no limits? but most people will use their common sense and drive how they feel sensible. Not everyone would go down it flat out at over 100 as fuel consumption would be really poor.
One problem with the current motorway system is A ) it's based on cars more than 50 years ago and B ) the limit is 70 - but everyone does 70 across all 3 lanes, thus the lane system is not used correctly.
If the middle lane was generally moving faster than the inside lane - then people would actually pull back in once in a while. I'm not talking about a large difference but say inside lane 65/70 mph... middle 80 mph and outside lane used simply to overtake.
Thus you have a flowing system which can be used properly, rather than sitting all bunched together at 70 mph - imo it's this (especially in outside lane with everyone up everyones bumper wanting to go quicker) that when a accident occurs - causes it to be so bad, since no braking space allowed.
Anyhow... all I'm saying is in that video I'd say, the reasons the woman died.
1. Driving like a cunt
2. Lack of attention (due to kid)
3. Speeding
4. poor control of his car.
Thus why is it all being blamed on speeding, I feel going slower doesn't stop accidents - but merely makes them less servere. That's a good thing yes - but not going to stamp out accidents like they're hoping. Generally I find the slower people go (road works limits on motorways) the more bunched up people get and imo the more dangerous it is, no braking distance, tightly packed clusters stops anyone changing lanes etc.
Sorry about the essay.
