when you become unemployed and have quit working, who do you need to inform, if anybody?
don't need to claim any sort sort of benefits.

i keep hearing you have to "sign up", but what exactly?

i've not payed much attention to this kind of stuff before, so excuse me if i'm a dumbass

You have to sign on to keep you NI payments going, otherwise you will have to organise payment.

I didn't work for 4 months and didn't sign on and they sent me a letter saying i've missed payments and it'll effect future claims, blah blah, etc

If you have a good reason you can, because I did. I just told job centre they were being unreasonable and weren't paying me enough to start using my own car for the job i was doing.

Yeah under certain circumstances you can still get JSA
But if you were just fed up or bored of the job they wont class that as reason to give u JSA

Think you only get about £100 every 2 weeks but think it varies in different cities
