Any of you lot got one?

Decided i'd better build up a credit history, so plan is to get one and just use it for petrol

Then end of every month pay it off straight away

Looking on a few sites, but nothing looks decent yet

It will never just be used to pay for petrol, you will see something you want and manage to justify it to yourself and there starts the downward spiral

Then you will miss a payment and then you will fuck it off and wait for letters from solicitors

if you want to build your credit history them get it, use it and after 6 months or so the credit limit increases then return it and apply for another but make your payments on time

Seems so stupid to give a student a credit card. Most people who work can use the credit card, as they know they'll get paid at the end of the month... Students however their money only goes downwards - so you buy something big on the card, and won't be able to pay it off

Ally -

CCA - making payments on time wont be a problem as its going to be based on £80-£100 worth of petrol monthly

ive got two credit cards had them since i was 18 and im a student had a part time job but just left the other week, ive got nothing on the credit cards and have used them once or twice and paid them straight off.

if people find it difficult to not physically take a card out and give it to someone in a shop ect, when they know they shouldnt then they lack will power.

its not hard to not use it seriously.

The best rates I found came through HSBC, who my student account is with.

They keep raising the limit tho! Started off £500 first year, now its £2300 final year

i've got an egg card, went over my limit by accident (tried to pay off a chunk but got there a day late) and they increased my limit for me after that, apart from that, never had a problem looking after my money

i just want to know, do any cards charge u interest on everything u buy no matter what? i have my egg card set up direct debit and it just takes the mnoey when i owe it and its due. but if i set this up with other cards, will they still charge interest, or do u only get charged interest if u dont pay it all off at once?

cheers
