Is this right... number one piston is at tdc:


The marks shown do all line up, its just perspective making them look out, reason i ask is because thats how it was before i changed the belt, and the timing mark on the lower twin v pulley is miles away when the cams are set

That's right, cam pulley pointing up and the crnak pully a the bottom. A costly mistake if you get it wrong. Just check the bottom pulley is in ok, as it can slip round a bit sometimes, just drop a long screwdriver down No.1 to check it's at dead top,
(looks like the bottom one is 1 tooth out, will defo run flat if you make that mistake, but maybe perpective on camera as said)

Shoudl have a sharp pointy pin at about 1-2O'clock on the outer casing, should line to to that, although over time the rubber fails and lets the bits slip

Asked on mig... they reckon the outer pulley bit has slipped on the rubber thingy and that i've timed it right
