Yank blocks are 1900cc and ZVH hybrids have been produced with capacities up to 2.1, possibly even 2.2 litres.
Totaly unneccessary though as 1.6 is just right.
Mine makes 286 brake and 301 lb ft at a little over 7000 rpm from a 1597cc unit.

Very true - no point in buying a sh*tter, it would be a money pit and you would soon regret it.
You would be better off spending as much as is neccessary to buy a proper one.
The RSOC Rally News magazine classified section is about the best place to look for serious cars.
Not sure what an ERST is by the way - sounds like some kind of 2 stroke eastern block thing.
Whatever they are, they can't be very expensive or large if gypsy children can buy them and are able to reach the pedals.
Seems a little off topic aswell.
Oh well, never mind.
