This is why all derren brown things are shit these days. Ever since that gun one I don't believe a thing he does. The gun was only firing blanks and the final people were all in on it.
They said "But if it fired a blank at point blank range, it'd still kill him" ... Well if that's the case, why not use real bullets?
Thing is even if it is real, it's nothing to do with all the shit they show you, the green, the words etc. He hipnotises them when you don't see, and then they play out an act like any other hipnotising sort of thing.
They didn't actually burst into a live bank, punch a old lady to a floor and start demanding they opened the safe. They just went up to a guy in green, waved a gun and took his cases that were empty
