Wish i did have a bigger engine!! Cant afford to though! I did have a 1.6 astra but the insurance was to expencive!!

Is there much point in putting one on this type of engine? or will i be better off with keeping it standard?

well most people put them on, mainly for the little extra noise it makes. and iv found it makes the car run that little bit smoother. but ud hardly notice a speed difference. id never buy one new, iv always got them off a mate for around a tenner so its worth it then

Usually in most circumstances the filter sucks in hot air from engine bay causing the engine to run sluggish! On Bigger engined cars its not too noticable but on a smaller engined car you can really feel it.

Replace standard panel filter and remove standard cold air feed and run a hose from the air box to the grille, will give about the same perfomance increase

hi,

yes it sounds better but you will realise hw much more petrol ya car drinks once you put the induction kit on. it only increases the engine power by 6%.

6% is optimistic.

My experience is that power does not improve and may go down depending how much extra heat you induct.
