What does the 'Cupra' actually mean?

Is it just a trim name or is it the engine name?

engine being the 1.8 20v Turbo.

can you get a seat leon with the 1.8 20v T, but not be a Cupra?

the engies a 1.8 turbo but the cupra R has uprated turbo and 2 intercoollers where as the the lesser model cupra smaller turbo and singular intercooler.
also engine management is different. dont get the brembos or 18s or the bodykit.

the original leon cupra had a lot of toys and was quite expensive at about 18k. they removed a lot of stuff and put it as options and called it the sport (same chassis, suspension etc etc ) then they called it the cupra again. same car really. now you get diesel versions. the leon has 150hp the ibiza has 160hp. however now the cupra's are known as FR's but you still get the cupra R. cupra R has lower compression twin intercoolers KO4 turbo, the cupra has 1 intercooler and a KO3sport
