Its that time of year when projects are under way (i know mine is ) and people are looking for new/2nd cars.
So I think we need a sort of 'what to look for' post.
I can only think of the usual things like body work damage, cracked glass, check oil/rad/washers/battery/smoke colour.
I'd also look out for hidden crash damage like seat belt tensioners that have gone off and replaced slam panels with no VIN numbers on.
and make sure all the tyres are the same make at least (so you know if the owner is a cheap skate who bearly keeps it roadworthy).
Anyone else have anymore??

put it in third with handbrake on, moderate revs and slowly release the clutch, you can then hear if the bottom end is knocking.

Is that always possible or is them not letting you just an excuse? i know insurance is a factor but its ok up and down their road right?
