lastnight on Match of the Day 2 they were talking about free kick routines from the Boro vs Spurs game, saying it would b prob easier for the goalkeeper if there wasn't any wall as it wouldn't block his vision, etc, etc.

that got me thinking........

would u b allowed to put a 5,6,7 man wall actually on the goal line, then have the goalkeeper stood infront of the wall a couple of yards but still within the 6 yard box?

reckon this would work? (or b allowed)

no, becasue the team with the free kick would just stand in the way and move at the last second, would catch sum1s leg but still go in

arsenal will probably try that one soon anyway, they have tried other things havent they. such as that throw in that just hit one of their team-mates on the back and went back to the thrower (quite clever) and that, erm, successful penalty

its not a very good idea tbh, the opponents could do 2 things,

1. more players will bundle into the box, then they could just simply pass it into a team mate to try finish

2, they could be roberto carlos and blast it, it could find a gap, or rebound off the wall on the goal line, and straight to another attacker, to put in, since they wont be offside it will count .
