Going Canada Next June for a Year through an organisation called bunac, basically for those that dont know it allows you to work in canada for a year.
Was wondering if anyone had been to canada, and what they thought of it? or actually through the bunac program...
Was thinkin Toronto in particular, any websites would be useful.

firstly canada is soo much better than america
you have to be 19 to drink in ontario where toronto is ... some other provinces are 19 and others are 18
... I went to uni for a year in toronto and had an amazing time ... any questions fire ahead

my cousins are from ontario and it sounds like its an ace place to live and the people and jst the way of living is of course so much better than this sh1t hole.
get urself down there for a year, itl be an experience

i find the canadian accent is amazing, cheers Pop for the advice...some people have said Torontos a rough place, whereas somepeople have said its not, whats your view on that and which areas are best left alone, which places you recommend?

hey mate ...
toronto is like anywhere i have ever been, some places are great and there's others to avoid
best place to live if you can get a plcae there is called the beaches ... it's about 10 mins from the centre and is a really nice area
... don't worry about living a little out of the centre because the underground system there is like nothing you have ever been on ... amazing service and so easy to use
... most places in the city centre are great to live in too
... what work are you planning to do over there?

if you search on google.ca there are loads of flat sharing websites too where u put a small profile up and canadians contact you trying to get you to be their flat mate
... just say you're from britain and they will be falling over themselves to have you living with them
... i found most canadians to be really friendly and will go out of their way to help you

work wise, im not to fussed, ive worked at a petrol station for 3 years, so retail wudnt be too bad but id prefer accountancy (in final year of degree)

retai;l and things shouldn't be too difficult to get work in.
... don't expect to walk into a bar job though cos you have to pass a small test and be certified before you can serve drinks!! .. just a crazy canadian law i think

Bunacs lasts for a year, and cause i havent got a job in advance i think its harder to get a proper visa, appreciate all the advise etc cheers

was in toronto in august... great place really....didnt think there was much night life during the week but it came alive at the weekend...
fairly cheap too...
