my mate put a bmc cda on his a3 and that buggered up the MAF soon after. ive heard if you want to be 100% safe the get a s/s induction kit

To be honest, on the 1.8T's the airboxes are very well designed and give plenty enough airflow for good power figures. Disnt do much to the A3 at all, apart from cause me endless grief with falling off, falling apart or fucking up my MAF. imo, id save the money for a remap i wouldnt put an induction kit on if i was to start again.

was it a pipercross for the vag or was it a universal. PX have a different unoiled foam for theVAG engines. putting one on won't do anything to the car unless you removed somthing.

wtf you on about vibrio, corsa808 is right, you could make one yourself for about a fiver which would have the same affect, replacing the standard feed from the grill with a shorter hose would give the same improvement. I will admit they do look tidy but your paying 200 for something that looks good.

Sealed airboxes will be slightly better but not noticeably, they keep warm air from the engine out.
