Easy Chaps,

Some silly woman in her 4 by 4 'bumped' as she put it, in to me when i was going very slowly over a speed bump! she was managed to buckel part of my tailgate, under the number plate recess and dent part of it too. also behind the bumper the real panal is dented.

Two things really, firstly has anyone got a rear bumper and a rear tailgate, in white would be amazing. secondly i am with elephant, i have a 550 excess. she has admited it was her fault, now it quote on my policy that i will have to pay this excess reguardless of whos fault it was. now do i ask her to go though her insurance so i dont have to touch mine? will i loss my no clames and have to pay this excess?

any help would be well received,

cheer

talk to insurers, but the excess should be refunded if both parties agree it was her fault, no claims im not sure but mine was untouched after an accident where i was not at fault

Had exactly the same thing happen 2 me. i dint have to shell out a penny for excess. i notified my insurance and then delt with the other persons insurance company direct. Took alot of phone calls to sort out but dun now. cost about £1500, needed a new boot floor, bumper and lights.

Mine dint go down as a claim as wasnt claiming on my insurance so urs shunt eitha. if she had gone into the back of you its her fault whateva as she was travelling too close. no insurance company will argue with that.

I think you have to pay the excess and then claim it back afterwards though

i dint, only do that if get ur insurance company to do the work. they charge you the excess cos they initially pay for the work then claim it back from the other insurance company. then they give u ur excess back.
If u deal with the other insurance company direct then dnt have to pay excess

Well i dint neway
