Go crazy, how about a roller ball for the steering,
voice activated wipers
touch sensitve buttons on the wheel that hits the indicators on
heaters blow directly at driver and maintain a constant screen temp to stop freezing

make the dash left and right hand drive
just have the steering console on a slider and twist grips for accelerating and brakes
thus no need for foot pedals on etheir side

buttons on the steering wheel, following the style and design of the wheell..
around the top, almost stealthed, but you can have one on left one of right for indicating.
etc..

only thing with steering wheel buttons, whats to stop you catching them as you steer... sure you'd get annoyed with that

but you could have triggers either side, that you press as you press the buttons....

Id love to see a steering wheel with a touch screen in the middle that has start engine, indicators, lights, music, everything you would need but is also a fingerprint scanner so its also a security device.
