Went Downhill MB in Comcan Wales through the forest stages and had a bit of an accident in our group

The guy I was following hit a jump wrong, fell head first into the floor shattering his helmet cheek bones and fracturing his spine

Was scary shit as he went into shock and I was the only one around till my other mate turned up.

I am now going on a first aid course as I had no idea on how to help but did my best and he is now recovering in hospital, which is some good news.

No, just kept him chatting, as he kept slipping in and out, was horrible to see the fall I was over the top of him in mid air almost hit him on the landing so could have been worse luckly I landed by the side of him and was able to help.

Should be Ok I have been told, however he had a helmet on and I didn't I have now purchased a full face one and a back protector as it opened my eyes to how fast and dangerous the sport is

Usually we have a few minor falls, but just goes to show only takes one little mistake to turn nasty

Yeh, get a decent lid matey! I have another mate that smashed his head up falling 6 foot from some coping on a ramp. Fractured his skull, didn't recover fully for about 6 weeks . He got a lid after that tho!
