had a very weak signal on my wireless internet usb thing, so i bought a usb extension (5m) Resulted in a better signal, according to the wireless connection but its even slower than before. Is it because the USB cable is passive rather than active and will an active cable be much better?

oh and its USB 1.1 so not sure if that would make a difference

get a USB 2.0 PCI card and run the extention off that should work better

PCI 2.0 USB 4port are bout £15
